Despite being the newest institution within Cambridge we have long been at the forefront of environmental stewardship here, from receiving numerous Green Impact Awards, to hosting half of the University’s Sustainability Leadership students. At this vital moment for deciding Robinson’s next steps, your generosity will enable us to expand our ambitions as we work to a more sustainable future.

The Gardens Fund is one with a very visible impact on the landscape of the College, supporting the planting and upkeep of the ten interconnected gardens that define the Grange Road site. This space has many roles, all related to Robinson’s original architectural vision of working with nature: sustainability through the recycling it enables; therapeutic for our community who engage with wildlife within it; and biodiversity through the various species that call it home.

With all of these aspects, there is still space to leverage our environment more efficiently. We want to transition the College towards solar and other renewable energy, and this will have a real impact on how we utilise and work with our Gardens. Our goal is to incorporate the Gardens into a wider sustainability plan, including installing solar panels on the sheds within it, and making this flourishing area of Robinson more accessible so that all of our community can celebrate them.

Help us to keep this central place in the College ‘green’ for years to come as we reduce our environmental footprint; by giving today you will help ensure that we can invest in the therapeutic, practical, and sustainable heart of Robinson that is our Gardens.
